Carrier Standards
What carriers must meet to haul our medical freight
Healthcare supplies depend on reliable carriers. Every carrier in our network is vetted against these requirements before receiving a load.
-
Active operating authority
Carriers must hold active FMCSA operating authority (MC and DOT numbers) and keep it in good standing.
-
Satisfactory safety standing
We review safety ratings and compliance history before a carrier is offered any medical load.
-
Cargo and liability insurance
Current insurance certificates must be on file, with coverage that meets the requirements for the freight being moved.
-
Clean, well-maintained equipment
Trucks and trailers must be clean, in good repair and suited to the shipment.
-
Working temperature control
For cold-chain freight, reefer units must hold the required range and carriers must share temperature records on request.
-
Live tracking and updates
Carriers must provide GPS tracking and respond quickly to dispatch check-ins during transit.
-
Trained, qualified drivers
Drivers must be properly licensed and trained in careful handling of medical and healthcare supplies.
-
Fast incident reporting
Any delay, damage or safety concern must be reported to dispatch right away so a recovery plan can start.
